We were approached by an online lighting hardware business with an eBay store who wanted to develop their own website to take and process orders directly.
During our initial conversation, we were told they had reviewed several 'off the shelf packages', but none of them meet their needs and they wanted something different.
We proceeded with analysis of their requirements, made some suggestions for improvement and agreed with them the features required for their bespoke ecommerce system.
It had to be quick and easy to use for the customer with PayPal / SagePay payment integration and automate as much as possible the backend processing of orders.
To control the online store, we developed an extensive online browser-based administration system for them to add, update and remove products / categories, setup postage pricing bands / countries and process orders with packing notes and automated emails on despatch.
Over time we've added functionality to collect marketing data and run reports to identify customers with highest total spend, see new / repeat customer trends and exports for email marketing.
Recently we have added a product search with result filtering for site visitors due to the growing number of products / categories available.
The online shop is also integrated with several remote systems for despatch management and implements automated upload of their product information into the Google Product store to gain more visibility.
The majority of their orders leave them now within 24 hours and have won them many loyal customers, who have come back time and again.
They recently despatched order 60,000.
